Any resemblance to any tut is purely coincidental.

Needed: Paint Shop Pro , I did this with Paint Shop Pro X3 but can be done with any version.

Tubes can be found by visiting Psp Pals, they have a huge variety of Christmas tubes that can be used according to their terms. Please read their TOS.

Step 1: Open a new image 500x500 Select the Christmas Tube you would like to work with. Select two contrasting colors from the tube and make a gradient using the settings Angle 0, Repeats 12, Style Linear, Center Point both set at 50 Add a new layer and flood fill with gradient color.

Step 2: Arrange and send the new layer to the bottom Highlight the Tube layer and adjust to where you want it in the frame area. *We will be adding a frame so leave room on the border side for the frame size of your choice*

Step 3: Go to Effects, 3D effects, Drop Shadow and use these settings. 6V, 6H, 50 Opacity, 5 Blur and color black hit OK Go back to the drop shadow and use -6V, -6H, 50 Opacity, and 5 Blur, Color Black and hit OK. *This action will make the tube stick out on the background you can play with these settings according to what tube you are using and the look you want on the result*

Step 4: Merge your layers together to form one layer. Choose the frame for your image and apply it In this tutorial, I used pspx3 and the frame is a Corel frame called “transparent” This transparent frame allows you to you highlight and add some different colors to the white areas if you choose. White on a Christmas tag works well too.

Step 5: *Whatever version you use should have a selection of frames to choose from under Image tab* Depending on which frame you choose, play with the settings and have some fun here. Find what works best with your picture.

Step 6: For this example I highlighted with the magic wand the white areas of the frame and promoted to a new layer then I selected a Christmas colored pattern and flood filled it on a new layer. I added a bevel to it using these settings Bevel #2, W 4, Smoothness 0, Depth 3, Ambience and Shininess both 0, Angle 315, Intensity 50 and Elevation 30.

Step 7: Feel free to use your own tubes if you like. Select a Christmassy type of text. I used one called Christmas Card II (should be able to get at a free font site like the one below) Add a Christmas message and Add your watermark / personal signature Call it good if you are happy with your results. Experiment is the key to get results. Use your tabs and play with the settings and adjustments. Tutorials are just a guide that suggests things. Creativity is one of the human minds best qualities. Have Fun and I hope you Enjoyed

Happy PsP'ing
