Needed: Paint Shop Pro , I did this with Paint Shop Pro9 but

you should be able to use with any version as well.

Supplies here, State-tut.zip

 

1 Open the US-Bats Font and minimize

use either small caps or big caps to type in a letter,

 

you have to go thru all of them to find your state.

 

font size 150.

 

raster deform tool

 

by pulling the corners, find a size you are comfortable with  

 

selections, select all, selections, float

selections, modify expand by 5

flood fill with any pattern or color, i chose gold pattern, select none

new raster layer, use magic wand select inside of the state.

apply drop shadow, black 3v-3h, opac 60, 15 blur

 

redo drop shadow but changing the v-h to -3

 

flood fill with a gradient, i chose a gold gradient

 

open an image/misted scene, any of your choice. copy and paste into selection

depending on how much of the scene or image is misted,

 

lower the opacity until you are satisfied with it.

select none

you can add more to the state if you like

 

or just add your name and watermark

 

layers, merge visible
